the precision billet 67mm wheel made over 90 WHP over the GT4094R i had before......

so id say yes ..... even though the wheel is extendid tip, which is the reason why it outperformed the GT40r

Material wise, no. The advantage is that distributors and others that have them made find it easier to create different designs and sizes more quickly and less expensive (for the manufacturer) to use. The design is similar to extended tip (not exact) so it can work.

The drawback is that if something were to go wrong, depending upon where you received it, rebuilding can be rather costly and time consuming.

In extreme applications like diesels they hold up better, but in the case of Precision turbos, they have their newest compressor designs machined from billet. Their new designs are very good.

I have one of the new billet 6265's on my car and I would say I am very happy with it. I think they are great and was worth the upgrade for me over my SC6152sp.

As for specific advantages to billet wheels vs cast, some points are debate-able but generally laying them out from what I know.

The billet wheels have a smaller hub cross section, slightly increasing the area of the blades... dunno to what measure-able effect this has but I would asume any increase is positive. Stronger material, although its debate-able if that ness. and not so important to us as very high rpm/ high pressure diesel pullers that run huge amounts of boost. Ability to rapid prototype/ test before putting into production. More aggressive profiles, which cast could be more aggressive but the billets being more recently developed/ produced would have an edge here in design over cast wheels that have been on the market for a while. Lighter weight wheel compared to thicker cast counterparts, etc...
