All 1st gears are either the same, or very close to each other. No way around it.

LS,GSR, USDM-R, JDM-R: 1st gear is 3.23
LS,GSR 2nd gear:1.9
USDM-R, JDM-R 2nd gear:2.105
if you have an ls, you already have the longest 1st gear combo. maybe you want to run a gsr trans with an ls diff to extend your 1st and 2nd gears a little..
gsr at about 8k will pull around 39 mph, and 66 mph in 2nd.
ls will pull about 40 and 68mph... thats with 205/45/16's
LS,GSR 2nd gear:1.9

i heard LS tranny with GSR final drive is good to decrease traction.
maybe he ment it is a GSR with LS final drive.
but i am pretty sure he said LS because the gears are long and if you put a GSR final drive you will take longer to climb RPM's in other words your turbo won't spool as fast down low so you can grab traction.

Automatic transmission has 100% traction in first and you hit full boost and nearly 45mph I believe before shifting.... of course you can only launch at 1800rpms unless you wanna blow it up with a nuetral drop.....
automatic super tall gears = to boost...
Of course before you get all flamy on me I'm being sarcastic while stating facts (for the most part)

LS tranny = Longer gears, keeps you in boost longer, more comfortable when cruising at highway speeds.
GSR tranny = short gears, gets your through gears/rpms quicker, not as much in boost, a little less comfortable at cruising speeds (higher rev at 75-80mph)
Type R tranny = even shorter gearing, even quicker through the gears, factory LSD, same as gsr reguarding boost time, even worse at highway cruising speeds.
Its all up to you, I think another thing is it may be "Easier" to get traction with boost and ls tranny, but thats really driver dependant....
