nope, if you search, i think there is other haters that have started threads, they are still around.

the only complaint ive ever gotten about my tuning is from mr nathan in the UK, when his ems some how magically lost the calibration and then the car never ran again the same. but we've already covered this on another thread a long time ago, and the issue is over.

but sure, if you dont like my services, feel free to voice your opinions.

I think everybody in here needs to chill out.

A mistake was made. Established.
Problem was made. Established.
A not-so-desirable solution was cast to rectify the problem. Established.
This happened three months ago. Established.
A lot of you guys are taking this fault to bash a reknowned engine builder. Established.

If you guys want to take shots at a guy for a mistake, PM him. I'm sure he'll care if you personally contact him wrather than drag his thread through the dirty alleyways of your discontent minds.

Everybody came on so strong into this issue. Too many damn die-hards on this board. Learn to change. Change can, and usually, is good.

I'm going to make my own word up now - its called JOS(pronouced JOES)...........its better than horsepower.........here's how you calculate it:

((Torque x 5252 ) / RPM (@which max torque is reached) ) +1 </TD></TR></TABLE>

As stated before, your equation is incorrect.

Second, Horsepower and its SI equivalent, the Watt, are measures of the work done or energy transferred into a system over a period of time. If you don't think these are measurable values, go take high school physics again.

onemanlan, you are correct, a mistake was made. Someone bought the wrong part for the wrong application. And it is the suppliers fault. RPM, load, and cycles, is something the engine builder is supposed to figure out. Sometimes your lucky, sometimes your not.
Want to check with Carrillo on the first B-series rods they ever made? It is me or Comptec in 1995. Probably Comptec, I went with 3/8 bolts, that was overkill, the next set was 5/16 bolts. Both sets are still running, just new bolts after 750,000 cycles. Being a little cautious on those numbers.

Quite frankly, because you are using the Carillo rods over their recommended power rating (200+ WHP), you are technically abusing them. It makes it no different than someone running 600ish WHP on Crower rods like you said

Horsepower ratings aren't really useful most of the time, but if one specific set of rods for a specific engine type (Honda B-series in this case) are being used over and over by numerous customers, you'd eventually be able to derive a good HP or TQ estimate for those rods for about the same given rod/stroke.

I do development work.
I run a 92mm piston which as far as I know or ever heard of is the largest piston ever sucessfuly placed in a factory 4 cyl honda block.....and is boostable to 6-8 psi</TD></TR></TABLE>I know I asked before but could you please post a pix of that block? I assume it would have to be done with offset bores and not on a B series.

We should appreciate what Earl did. I'm sure thanks you "Earl" for your curiosity.
Look, he took the light weight rod and made well over 600whp. The rods bent. Earl told them about the rods and the hp he had made. They basically thought he was stupid.
Now, let said Earl just made 600whp and the rods did not bent. Earl called the Carillos and told them about the situation. Earl will probably tell them how he likes those rods and wants to sell more of their rods. The Carillos people will probably hug him and throw kisses at him.
IMO, do we have to said that he is stupid to try that?
Earl, I and a lot of the HT members will give you love for what you did. Keep it up Earl.

Why did Mase come on here and say, Do you know who your talking to, to well know people in the honda community...lol,what does that have to do with anything and does that make then Superior to everyone else on here, I don't think so..everyone makes mistakes big deal why does everyone get defensive about it... and he also commented on how he bashes headgames and others ,what exactly does that have to do with this thread? what does anything you said have to do with this thread either if anything your just helping drag this thread out with your comments starting bs. OK now this threads out of control and will be locked.

To the defenders - stop blindly swinging from the nuts of the oh so great honda-tech gods in every thread. Some of you STILL blindly post about the rods being weak, when Earl himself says they were for a different application, he may have just misread the recommendation (which is fine, it happens), but that wasnt the point of his post. I don't think it is his fault that Honda-Tech chooses to misinterpret everything to make it more dramatic and juicy.

If Earls intentions were to post that this is what happens when you use an incorrect part, it sure didnt turn out that way, to no fault of his own. Yet still people defend the wrong thing....its unbelievable.

I swear to god Im going to have Tony or Art or Geoff or whoever to post up how using crushed coke cans as d series pistons is the new trend, and watch as everyone says "way to go guys!" without even questioning their thought process. Use your heads people...just because a well known person makes a post doesnt mean its the be all end all. And god forbid someone questions one of these guys! All of these guys bring great experience and knowledge to the table, but even they shake their heads at how quickly everyone takes sides without actually knowing what theyre praising or why theyre praising it. The honda-tech bandwagon really is not a joke. I got news for you...these guys actually ENJOY a good technical discussion. If you want to swing from their nuts, then bring them something intelligent to chew on.

To the complainers - As for your problems with deleting posts and mods having personal interests they defend...it absolutely can be a problem. Im not saying who or what, Im just saying your complaints are not ignored or shrugged off. That said, it BOGGLES MY MIND how many times one can explain this on a thread and yet STILL you go head to head in the thread about it rather than taking it to PM. You are as guilty of lusting for drama as the next guy. It really doesnt say much for your case when we continually say "take it to PM if you have a problem" and you keep posting on the thread about it...how much do you really want to solve the problem if you dont take our advice as to how to solve it?

To everyone on Honda-Tech - when I see bandwagons beginning to form, Im going to delete them. When I see a full post of people going "yay Mase way to go tooner!" Im going to delete it. When I see a blatant advertisement from someone "in the loop" Im going to delete it.

If your post isnt technical, it doesnt belong here. If you criticize someone for asking a question, YOU dont belong here.

Rule #1 of FI FORUM - DONT BE A DICK.

Follow it.

Call me a ****, call us a dictatorship...whatever, I dont care. This forum is about technical information. All of us are here to learn from each other. The rest is all bullshit personal interests, whether its to make money, gain a following, or swing from the celebrities nuts. Either way, I aint havin that.

DONT BE A DICK.
