bad boost lag? caused by no 02 sensor?
i have ls vtec fully built untuned, i am trying to test out the turbo befor i tune, and it boost 5 psi at around 4000rpm.. isnt that a little bit late for a 60/63 trim precision turbo?.... iam thinking its because the car is running too rich because no o2 sensor...... but i could be wrong.. could the O2 sensor cause the turbo not to spool right because its just shooting unburnt gas into the turbine?????

No tune = super lean leading to boost. You are probably detonating a thunderstorm, ruining your pistons and valves, not to mention not making any power. That is one reason why it's spooling late.
NExt, if you have *ANY* leak in the charge pipes or the exhaust (before the turbo), it will spool very late. If your exhaust is leaking enough where dead exhaust gasses are being sucked into the turbo's inlet, you're spooling even later because you can't burn dead exhaust gas. Read up on Direct Exhaust Injection and why it's not helpful.

A wastegate opens to control boost, which means, once desired boost pressure is obtained it opens, bypassing exhaust gases from the turbine to the ground or to the downpipe. which in turn slows down the turbine keeping a constant boost pressure on the compressor side.
However, any exhaust leak pre-turbine will cause spool issues.
