B20 Going for Boost? Need help on build
im planning on building a b20 Vtec going for boost i know ive heard about the weak walls n such but... ive heard about some builds that are somewhat reliable.... now im
"NOT PLANNING ON RUNNING A STOCK B20 Bottom",
(im upgrading to all race bearings)
So i have a couple of days to have something running n all im looking for is 400 hp any one have a reliable setup or give me some advice some one told me block guards are trash and waste of cash?
i know a ls bottom can hold more but i stripped like 5 threads n junking that block all i have spare is a b20 thanks H-T!

race bearings are not an upgrade.
if you want to do upgrades,polish/balance the crank, get a set of pistons/ rods. + vtec oil pump.

Block guard = joke.
B20 sleeves are like paper thin between the cylinders. 400whp is a stretch for them, but it can be done.

Don't listen to the hype Ohh b20 buttom ends are junk. If you read in the Boosted b20 forums, there is a guy that has a SFWD integra b20 non vtec is running over 600 hp on stock b20 sleeves. hondoctors have a 10.9 crx with a stock b20 with I believe on ARP headstuds, correct me if I'm wrong. Tuning is everything, you can pop a sleeved motor was bad tuning. I had a b20 non vtec in my 91 hatch, ran 3 months on a basemap while waiting for tuning appointment. 9psi, stock b20 with crower 403 cams. thats all. If your going to invest money into the car please invest it with a reknown tuner who knows what they are doing.
