Re: b16b Turbo (JDMstance99)
It is safe to boost any motor if you do it right. Will your motor blow up? yes it will if you do not have it tuned right. Is it safe to boost the motor with a 10.8:1 comp. ratio? yes it is....if you tune it right. Buy a kit...boost the ******....get it TUNED...and call it a day!

I can't believe no one has flamed this person to search yet, sometimes this forum can be a bit rough...
if you want proof such a high compression engine will be fine under boost, there are a number of type-r turbo owners on this site and I believe there was a post on here with a video of some guy's integra built for turbo response; it had a gt28rs, ITBs, and 11.5:1 compression. Oh, and of course that guy above is good proof as well.
The way I understand it is that high compression just makes the car more difficult to tune, more touchy. I guess it is in fact better because it will give you more power out of boost to spool that turbo faster.
Hope it turns out well for you, whatever car that thing is in will be sweet

i'd do it...
so what if it's a rare motor.
rebuild that **** when it goes out.. bad *** r/s ratio, drop the cr down to like 9.5 and rev friendly to 10k.... hehe
lol

Actually its very safe depending upon the tune.. But you have to ask yourself what you're looking for in terms of a concept for the car. Are you trying to circuit race, drag race? Only street? Only then can it be determined what turbo can be used. I'd just stay away from the TURBONETICS turbos themselves. Full-Race is great and all (no offense, and all due respect intended Geoff) but they make a turbo kit that is mainly designed for a different purpose...
Power FC has a direct plug in Management for the B16B. Though I'm a B18C, I'm still using it, and find it absolutely lovely..

Even though it came with the ctr wiring harness i used my stock one, exactly what bugs are you haveing, also the motor will throw a code unless ur useing a obd1 ecu or the stock ctr computer! Let me know.
Thanks again everyone!
