is that motor in the car built with forged internals? or is it stock rods and ls pistons?

To people running stock motors, are you guys putting in ARP head studs, along with a new head gasket? My turbo build is going to be starting soon and I was just curious.

My compression numbers are 150,155,155,165

Also what size injectors should I go with? I am looking for power around the 325-400whp range. I also have an aftermarket fpr, should I get rid of this and go with stock?

Thanks guys!

I have a b16a that I want to swap into my 99 civic hatch. I am a new guy so not sure where to start. I want to rebuild the motor while I have it out. Could use any tips you guys got. I wouldnt mind turboing it but mainly I want to get it rebuilt and swapped in first. I got about a grand to spend now.

Yes, please get yourself ARP head studs and bolts, with OEM head gasket.

For the power range your looking for at least minimum 750cc and up injectors. FPR sucks. Get a 255 walbro, get it tuned.....

Yeah, sorry, a grand aint gonna get you far unless you plan on five finger discounting stuff in which we hope not cuz we dislike thieves to be nice about it......

just in a rebuilt kit from honda is gonna pending if you got hook ups is $470-$600 I'm pretty sure your gonna wanna get a clutch while your at it and thats about $300-$400 so thats $1,000 not including spark plugs and wires, cap and rotor, honda bond, all the fluids, oil pump, water pump, pulley tensioners, timing belt, not to mention if your gonna do it yourself which will save you money!!

Sorry man. You need to save more money. At least $4500 if you wanna go turbo. Turbo is expensive and requires maintenance......

Okay...... Yes, $1,000 is a good start. I guess I'm talking on my own expierance cuz my car is a DD so I had to get everything before I pulled my b16 out to re-build it over the weekend and install the turbo set up. Good Luck with the Build......

Here's my built B16 bottom end (still 1.6) and stock head on GSR cams. I think the cams and IM are limiting the setup.

Turbo is a Bullseye BW S256 with ID1000 injectors, Boostwerks custom top mount manifold, 3" downpipe and 80mm Top Fuel exhaust. The intercooler is a Vortech air:water and intake temps hover around 84 degrees even when beating on it on a hot day.

Thanks. I know it's not the highest HP car but it's a fun street car. The number that some guys are putting down make me feel kinda embarrassed for my setup.

On a hot day, no. I've compared to datalogs at the end of a 1/4 mile run and seen those above 120* with a traditional front mount setup. The big draw for me was consistency. It the summer to have it at maximum 84* all the time - highway, street, idling in traffic - was paramount.

My temps are considerably cooler on fall/winter days as you'd expect.

What is your horsepower and torque? Dude, that set-up is sick man. Never seen nothing like that before. I love it......
