You're not using any CDI? I thought that the EPM doesn't have the ignitor, only a crank sensor.

correct im not using a cdi box the coils run directly to the aem.truefully i havent even looked under the dash to exactly how its all wired up.It was something jeff evans wanted to try out and he wanted to do all the wiring himself so i just havent sat down to look at it to see what goes where..lol
I know its just the epm, coils, aem, and 2 relays under the dash.

It looks like I may have to hit Jeff Evans up to see what he did unless you'd like to chime in. That's very interesting since that could really save some cash. I've got the AEM 1010 box myself so I'll have to see what I can do.

hi guys, great thread

i currently run a d16, which runs 10.9@132, im considering swapping to a B16, but im unsure whether its worthwhile. im confident i can squeeze 140mph from the D, as im still on stock cam, TB, mani etc, and pump gas, my questions are-

1, how many b16`s have made 145mph+ traps??
2, at 84/85mm, its 1700cc+, which will make more tq, and hp, but how thin are the sleeves at this bore? is it unwise to go so large bore? (not stock sleeves btw).

i know most of the drag guys run b18`s of some sort, but they are expensive, and im not keen on blowing such motors, b16`s are cheap over here though, and seem a better option for trial and error reasons, and im sure it will net more power than the D16, its certainly more effiecent, my d needs a lot of boost and timing to go fast

Do you have a traction bar and LSD? With just 600whp you should be hitting low 10's and maybe with good 60 foots could hit a high 9.

Hey this is a question for all your turbo b16 guys. I have a 93 Civic hatch with a PR3 B16a. I want to turbo the car. right now the engine has about 85k on it. How reliable can the car be? It is my only car and it smokes sometimes when I get on it hard. If I run about 10lbs of boost will I be ok? I was probably going to keep the engine stock. Maybe put in some valve springs and a thicker headgasket.

Just make sure your new build includes new piston rings and valve guides...
