With the longer gearing of the ls tranny ..U will be in boost longer before you would have to shift to the next gear and have the turbo spool back up...
The Bad part is when u shift the rpms would drop out of the powerband, and u would have to wait for the power again..

But with the b16 tranny u would have great acceleration and everytime u shift u will still be in powerband....
But shifting more causes the turbo to go in and out of boost .....

IMO The ls would be better in High HP/Big turbo applications..
And B16 would be better for smaller turbo/moderate HP applications..

Just My opinion...

LS trannies belong on LS motors. Period, vtec motors need vtec trannies. I have a B16 with a LS tranny and the gas mileage is decent, but thats about it. Its lazy, laggy and just plain doesn't fit the bill. If you put a LS tranny on yours, get some killer valve train so you can rev the **** out of it so you can still stay in your powerband inbetween shifts. But thats a accident waiting to happen.

i also ran a turbo b16 setup with the ls tranny and was not happy with the results. Keep in mind this was a low compression built b16 but regardless it wasnt responsive at all and very laggy.
