Default Average tune..

Just wondering what the average tune costs. Where i'm from theres only one place that dyno tunes, and i'm just asking here so i don't get screwd. My setup is a stock H22, wanna run 6psi, DSM 450's, tuned on crome. I'm just looking for a ball park figure so if it's outrageous I can load my car up and go to another province. Don't flame, just need a little advice.

round here it averages $150/hr. typically 2-3 hours for a complete tune.

some places will charge a flat rate for the entire tune.

it all depends on the tuner and what program. I paied $250 (i think???) to get my ls-t tuned on crome. Now im getting another tune from Jeff evans for $600 on neptune + a race gas tune...but that includes the system

Usually around $150 an hour. Depending on the complexity of your setup and how well it's running when you get it there it could take 1 to many hours to tune.

I know of one local car that the tuner had on the dyno for like two days straight. That must have been spendy!

Would u guys recommend a dyno tune over a wideban? Is one far and away better then the other? Is one safer (car not blowing up)?

A wideband isnt a form of tuning, its a tool to aid you in tuning.

Get it tuned on a dyno(with a wideband) and never really have to worry about the tune again.

I think i paid about $450 for my tune including Neptune and about 90 minutes on the dyno and the install of a 3-bar.

I street tuned my last car by myself with a Zeitronix WBo2. I just data logged a bunch of pulls, then went back and modified my maps etc.

I also tuned at the track. I would datalog a 1/4 mile run, then go back through and alter my maps accordingly. This method worked really well

I sold my wideband and EPROM burner though, so I am having someone else dyno tune my new setup. I should have never sold the zeitronix!!

prices seem to vary, but the average consensus seems to be in and around 450 to complete a tune.

id imagine close to 400-500 for dyno tuning, and somewhere around 200 or so for street tunin. i know when i dyno tuned my cars it was 250 for 2 hours of just the dyno, and it would have been more expensive if i had to pay atuner on top of that.

personally im gonna go to jeff evans for neptune, 600 for the program and tune is well worth it in my opinion
