I've tuned on Crome for over 3 years now and haven't had too much of an issue finding a tuner (i'm not in CA though). Its true that shops would rather sell you a new Hondata or AEM setup rather than tuning on freeware because there is less profit margin in the freeware. I'm sure someone will tune your setup though...shops can't turn away business in a bad economy lol. Have you actually called any of these shops directly?

No.

No reputable tuner will tune a car with CROME anymore because there are MUCH better alternatives available for a decent price these days.

CROME = Junk.

You should be able to find someone to tune your car with something like Neptune for under $450 flat rate, and that gives you a rock-solid software.

crome is not JUNK,

its free, and you get what you pay for.

If you consider the fact that you pay nothing, and the countless support you can get for it on pgmfi.org,

crome is pretty good imo,

yes its no where near what you get when you pay, but again, it works, and its free.

When the timing values you see aren't anywhere near what you get, that constitutes "junk," my friend.

The only thing CROME has going for it is the price point. Period. As a tuning tool, in terms of quality, it is nothing but sub-par and antiquated.

Cause tuners love to sit on pgmfi.org when a problem occurs with chrome. I've seen to many bugs pop up with chrome, my tuner prefers ectune over chrome and I know he makes squat off of it. Last time I talked to him he was getting away from chrome completely because of the bugs involved with it, bugs equal more time, more time equals more money on the dyno that the customer has to pay for.

I, infact, make nothing off neptune (chipped based). I tune what I would run. I have tested crome (not chrome), and found out what (or lack there of) crome does.

But it is your money.

Interesting comment.. I guess you work for free

Chrome works fine for small builds.. (low HP 300 or less) If you have a built motor and such why not spend money on EMS??
