Default Audible boost warning?

Does anyone know what to constuct a device that would sound an alarm when your boost level got to a pre-set level? I was thinking a relay with the map sensor hooked to the contacts and a buzzer on the coil. You could scale down the map sensor voltage with a pot for tunablility.

Like a "full boost" buzzer? That doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Your idea on how you could make it work, though, is very good Let us know how that turns out.

If you're wanting to use this for overboost protection, you could always use your standalone to set a boost-limiter and let the sound of the engine hitting the proverbial wall let you know to get out of it

some electronic boost controllers do that.

My friends greddy profec does it. It beeps when you hit the "warning boost level" or something like that, but anyways, you set it. Its fully user adjustable.

Lookup "hobbs switch"
All you need is a pressure sensitive switch.

Hobbs switch and a piezio-electric buzzer is all you'd need, then set the hobbs switch to the preset limit. If you're looking for overboost protection, a pop-off valve is much better, although using this in combination would let you know what happened instantly.
