aries vs je
Trending Topics
the only issue Ihave heard with JE is they tend to have sharp edges so they need to be sanded down some.other than that they seem awesome..I am running them on my car as soon as it is done..
Yes Vince at GE is carrying arias pistons. Thats who I got mine through. havent driven the car yet with these pistons but hopefully witihin a week I will be breaking it in. My engine builder was very disappointed in the ARIAS rings they way the fit up. But overall I think ARIAS is a very good piston for turbo apps.
JE's run a better metalurgy (Metal/alloy content) than aries and are generally stronger as far as off-the-shelf pistons, if you get custom however, they will be as strong as you tell them to make them so you will be the judge. When I was looking for pistons the major comparisons was not aries (they are usually better for NA aplications) it was Wiseco. Wiseco and JE are pretty close in metalurgy and are both very good pistons. Let me know if you have any questions about the specifics of either pistons and actually the best way is call JE @ (714) 898-9763 and ask them their metal/alloy content. than call aries (I don't have a number for them, but I'm sure their website should) and ask them for their metal/alloy content #'s and that should give you a good idea of what they are. I hope this helps.

I am running JE 9:0:1 now in my R and I have no problem. I ran Arias in my old car a Civic with JRSC B18C1 @ 11.5 psi. Arias are really good pistons but they are a little noisy on startup. I would buy them again if I had to.
Kurt of KG told me that Arias now has a different forging method/style/technology whatever are better. From the 3 sets that are in my friends car, I can tell you that there is no noise on startup, even on cooler days. I know theyre old pistons ratteld quite a bit on startup on cold days but their new pistons
