I'm going to perform a mild build (eagle rods, pistons, bearings, rings) until I can get the cash to sleeve, etc (the works). I'm trying to choose some pistons to drop in.... and I'm looking at weisco 9.8:1 (hopefully stock bore) or JE 9.8:1. I will properly tune and hopefully be able to boost 15-18 at the track (with a t3/t4b currently). Can you all give me some recommendations for a piston choice here? (ie, wiesco vs JE vs other options) Thanks

the would go je or wiseco good choice of pistons 81.5 mm is good way to go so you cna fresh hone and work it there

i like the endyn rollerwave pistons....they are made by weisco if i can remmember correctly..... and arias pistons are nice too

I'm running Ross 9.5:1 81.5mm pistons and I love them.

Pretty much all pistons available for honda engines are going to be adequate. The only ones off the top of my head that you should stay away from is SRP. They are made of weaker forged material than the rest out on the market. I have had good luck with JE and wiseco/rollerwave.

Can you point me to some info about the rollerwave pisons? What's the difference between those and the standard wiesco's? Are you guys runing stock sleeves with the 81.5 bore? What kind of boost pressures/hp #'s with the stock sleeves with the overbore?

They are supposed to have a better swirl mixture pattern from the piston design. Some people swear by them, others doubt they work. I use them since they are about the same price as the normal wiseco's, and all the sharp edges are sanded down.

I would stick to stock sleeves. The ONLY reason I am running a GE sleeved engine is I wanted a 2.0L, which is achieved through a 84.5mm bore.

I had my personal gsr block, all stock internals running with 18-19psi on race gas tuned on the street via hondata. The piston/rod combo is more than enough for 400whp.

awesome... that's definitely encouraging. What did c/r did you run?

Also... did you use a blockguard? I've heard many mixed views on them.... I was leaning toward not using one simply because it only affects the top of the sleeve.... but any advice would be great.

My ENDYN 9.2:1 pistons are at Golden Eagle with my block right now. I went with them for the same reasons boosted hybrid went with them.

I'm hopnig to hit ~18psi on a decently sized t3/t4e at the track.... does 9.8:1 sound alright? I am at ~ 6000feet elevation... and that plays a big role

If everyone new how good these pistons are and for that cheap of a price, take advantage of it. I'm not making a dime or getting anything for free. Just trying to pull enough together to become a WD.
