Default Any of you guys reinstall a timing belt with all the covers on?

I just retorqued my head to make sure everything was good. Now I just need to put the timing belt back onto the cams. Do I have to pull all the covers off to do it? Are there any marking on the crank pulley to line it up, or do I have to go by the mark on the lower timing pulley? TIA

if you take off the covers and the crank pulley it wil be much easier...

there is a mark on the end of the crank, and a mark cast into the oil pump housing that show u where to set it up... the two marks have to align, and you are set..

What is the white mark on the crank pulley? The belt in still laying in place. Can I just pull it tight, position the 2 cams, and line up the white mark with the line on the cover?

the white mark on the crank pulley should be aligned with the line on the lower timing cover(it's at about 10:00 if the crank pulley was a clock) you should see it there. take the top timing cover of(this is only 2 bolts i beleive) so there is no reason to not take that one off. after your cams are bolted down, you need to align the timing marks on those(look at the teeth, one tooth should have a line in it. It doesn't matter where the actuall belt teeth line up, it's making sure that the cams are at TDC and the crank is at. TDC. So yes it can be done the way you want to, but it is not recommended. DON'T BE LAZY!!!!
