That's the magic of torque converters my Hmong friend. The motor doesn't really "disconnect" during the shift like a typical clutch does, the torque converter pretty much absorbs all that the motor dishes out. No lift = no surge.

Now the big question is: How much can that auto hold before it gives out?

It prob won't hold to much. I am picking up a s40 for $100 bucks. Do I need different axles or will the auto's work? Still not 100% sure what I wanna do. Brake boosting is hella fun. I would rebuild the auto, but I wanna run uberdata eventually so a 5 sp. swap will prob happen.
