Default Another SSautochrome product thread.(not the manifold)

A friend bought an SSautochrome T3/T4 turbine brand new..He installed it and 2 days after he decided to sell it for another turbine. Now, he wants to sell it to me for 300 bucks and i dont know what to do..
Should i stay away from it?

Its a T3/T4 .60 trim turbine. Stage 3 wheel.. just 2 days of use, turbine is out of the car now.
My setup is a Sohc turbo and i need a turbine..

Now, i have read something about SSautochrome turbines but cant find it..Whats the problem with them? Do they suck? etc...

Please HELP!!!!!!!

Manifold thread or not, if you type ssautochrome in and search for archived topics, there are still a ton of threads about the turbo too.

Basically, they suck, pretty large failure rate, but they do replace them for free and have good customer service.

sounds like you got a choice to make . . . . I had a friend that baught that turbo and about a week alter it was shooting oil out like no tomorrow, spend a little extra money to get a turbo that will last you a good while without any problems. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the reply man..and thanks for the IM..

The thing is like this... I want a T3 turbo, which i can get one for 250$ with warranty papers(complete re built turbine) but i was thinking that if a T3/T4 showed up at a good price then id definitelly jump on that.. I was planing to convert the T3 into a T3/T4 in the future anyways.

It seems like a Stage 3 .60 turbine in my car will start spooling too high, specially on low Cr(8.5:1)..Thats where it started spooling on my friends car..Around 6000 on a B16 with 3" Intercooler piping.
