Air filter falls off
anyone else have the weird problem of their air filter randomly falling off their turbo? I've probably been through about 6 filters so far and its starting to **** me off. my compressor inlet is only about 2.25" and my aem 2.5" filter lasted me for almost 2 years just fine. Then all of a sudden one day it fell off. I tried a bunch of other 2.5" filters(thats the only size I could find locally) and they all fell off within a week. Now finally I got a 2.25" filter from K&n that fits perfect and when tightened is very snug, yet it still fell off the other day
. Any idea why they randomly fall off for me? Its like they become slippery when the turbo gets hot. I never used to have any problem with it before...

Random thread-jack question: Does the turbo spool louder with a filter, or without?
I used to run a Greddy kit with a filter, and it spooled loud as hell.
Now I run a Precision SC50 with a screen (can't fit a filter until I remove my P/S), and I can hardly hear it spool at all!
And yes, I did just ask a ricer question

Upgrade to the Tbolt clamps and use two! Wire a safetly line to filter so you dont lose it again.</TD></TR></TABLE>
OP ninja edit, or I'm a retard, your choice

Thats a good point.

Haha i dont think i'm getting compressor surge...i have a tial 50mm bov. Also yes the seals did go bad on my turbo and i had a bunch of oil in the charge pipes, but there was none in the compressor housing where the intake is. I just put my old turbo back on so hopefully no more of that. I think i'll have to give some T-bolts a try.
