Does size MATTER???
Just need your attention... I have a few questions about air filters on the turbo, does it matter how big the filter really is and the type (K&N, etc.) of air filter on it? Also on the placement of the filter? My installer didn't have much room to play with and my kit didn't come with the filter and the piping, so they made a piping out of cast iron and pointed it downward with a SMALL cone air filter (2.5 diameter) attached to it. I saw a lot of pics of turbo setup and everyone's filter is pointing up and near the top by the charge pipe. Is having my filter pointing so close to the ground okay and should I change to a bigger air filter? Also I sort of like how the HKS air filter looks like (sort looks like a mushroom), is that any good?

I think it's obvious that it does make a difference.
I hate to pull this out, but....I have a friend with a 91 rx7. He as a T3/60-1 with a 1.15 A/R turbine. He used some crappy "small" filter because that was the one he had before the turbo upgrade. Anyways, on the dyno he couldn't make power after 5500rpm's. He hit 330whp at 10psi, but the power dropped after 5k. Got a larger K&N and he says it pulls hard to redline now.
