Default Aftercooler for Turbokits...Help me decide on what to do...

Has anyone done an aftercooler for a turbo setup? I have a 00' Si, looking to do a stealth setup. No FMI in the front showing and no BOV noise(rerouting the BOV to intake). Would it be the same benefit as a FMI and would the Vortech aftercooler work with any turbo setup? This is to be a sleeper.

Dunno about the aftercooler, but you could get a side mount intercooler or even paint the front mount flat black...

You'll still hear most if not all BOV's even if they are plumbed into the filter pipe.

I'm not sure if the side mount is as effective but that is a thought. Painting it flat black will still give it away as FI. Good thinking thou.

Yeah, I know, I just want it to be a little quieter than normal. Thanks for the input.

I bought an aftercooler kit for my Si but never installed it. I received some good feedback on air/water coolers from some folks on this board. Btw, I still have the aftercooler if you're interested.

I was going to go this route. I decided against this because the air/air wins on the street. The air/water will soak up the heat from the engine compartment, your efficiency of the intercooler goes down the tubes from there. Air/Air is the simpliest and most effective on the street, air/water is the most effective since you can put ice in the resevior and drop temps below ambient. This will only last for maybe two runs though, then the water will be heated up again. If you want stealth, go with a front mount and spray it flat black. You couldnt see my last intercooler behind the front bumper until you put your face up the front grill.
