Adjusting a tial BOV.
that doesn't make alot of sence. why would they make 2 springs only 4lbs apart when people using this thing could be boosted anywhere between 5 to 25 lbs?
TiAL offers a 7lb, 8lb, 11lb and 12lb spring for their blowoff valve. This is what TiAL recommends when choosing a blowoff valve spring.
Measure engine vacuum at idle. ( engine at operating temperature )
Vacuum Reading
Between ----------------------------------------- Use Spring
-22 in/hg and -23 in/hg -------------------------12 psi (-24 in/hg)
-18 in/hg and -21 in/hg -------------------------11 psi (-22 in/hg)
-14 in/hg and -17 in/hg -------------------------9 psi (-18 in/hg)
-10 in/hg and -13 in/hg -------------------------7 psi (-14 in/hg

A proper sized vacuum port and line needs to be used with the Tial. It really makes all the difference. FWIW the standard 9 psi spring is all that is needed on most cars. It will still blow off crisp even at 3.5 psi.

Thank you thank you thank you!!!! I was gonna post this but you beat me to it, too many people are MISINFORMED like my dumb friend Bret Vaporboy12 above. Tial's BOV springs are based off how much vacuum you pull NOT how much boost you are going to run! Bret you sucka!!!

well, while spring choiced is determined buy vacuum at idle, it still wont open unless the spring rate is met or exceeded, ie you boost 9psi or more
mine chatters real quick then lets out the whoosh. If it's just chattering, there may be a tiny piece of dirt inside of it. Take it apart and hit the inside with some emory cloth and put it back together and see if that helps it.
