Default About To Acquire This Setup, Few Questions

I'm gonna have this setup shortly & previous owner said it put down 400+ on 20psi. Stock motor. 99 Ls with 40k miles. Refreshed motor before putting it in. He has the boost down to 12psi where I plan on keeping it until I have a built motor. He said just under 300whp at 12 psi. 13.6:1 a/f. Uhh I dunno. I've been an all motor guy & found this deal so I was wondering how good of a deal it actually is. I plan on switching it over to obd1 sometime this summer & using Hondata.

man i have no idea what your talking about. 400whp on stock block ls? 13.6 a/f? is this a good deal? you dont even have a price listed so how could we tell if its a good deal. can dsm 450's handle 400whp? "HE" has the boost down to 12 psi? what does that mean his boost controller is set to 12psi? because he has it set at 12psi does not mean that its gonna magically be at 12psi when you install it. you need a boost controller to set that. and if you have a "vortec fmu" then your a/f is going to be (suposedly) whatever the disc is set at.

um, 12psi on a stock ls is ballsy. I know how some people say its a matter of tuning, but personally I would not go over like 9-10psi on stock internals. Also, 13.6:1 A/F is very very bad for a boosted car. You want that to be at like 12.5:1....max. Yea and that vortech fmu, or any boost dependent fmu is bad news. Get a hondata or something and tune it correctly. I would really suggest just buying all the parts (including hondata), then install and tune.

he didnt say 400whp, 12 psi and 300whp is very doable on a stock internal ls IMO with good tuning. i made 225whp at only 6 psi with **** tuning on my b16a. im running 9 psi now on the hack.

Ok, sorry about that 1st post. The guy said he made 400+ whp on 20psi on that setup. He has turned down the boost to 12psi since then & said it makes just under 300whp. He said this is his 4th motor & he has blown the previous ones but thinks he has this 1 set. It has the most miles & has taken the most boost. I mainly was just wondering if it'd be safe to drive around on for the next 2-3 months until I can afford to better the setup. I plan on going with Hondata & having it tuned right. Then next winter putting in a built motor & upgrading a few of the parts. So ya, once again I was just wondering if this setup will be alright to toy around with for a few months til I can better it. The setup is already installed on the car & i'm buying the car. I believe he used the hack to tune the car he says. He said it's running real rich but better rich then lean. So ya, if you can figure out this post then reply.
