50 trim vs 60-1 on b17a
Ok to cut a long story short id like to find out which turbo would flow better at 0.9 to a bar.
I had a ball bearing to4e 50 trim with the f1 57 exhaust side and due to lack of knowledge it was upgraded with a 60-1 comp wheel(originally was to be a super h wheel)
To top it off the 60-1 blades were fitted and unit not balanced and i fitted and made less power on higher boost.
Afterwards sent the turbo back and purchased another 50 trim assuming mine was trashed , they only had 50 trims in stock
And now i have the 50 trim non bb with stage 3 hotside in and i have the 60-1 to4e balanced and was wondering which would make better power/flow better at 1 bar
A freind told me the 60-1 would only flow better than the 50 trim after 1.2 bar is this true
Power before on .8 with to4e 50 was 182wkw and 246nm
Then 1 bar with the unbalanced 60-1 was 185kw and just over 230nm
Now 1 bar with non bb to4e 50 trim 195wkw and 270nm
Engine is 84mm b16a vtec
Hope this helps
Btw i tried reading the compressor maps but that was a fail
Thanks in advance

Re: 50 trim vs 60-1 on b17a
The design of the 60-1 is to have maximum performance at lower boost pressures. IE the turbo is good for about 550hp and does this within 20-22 psi boost. The 50 trim will allow for higher boost pressures but is good for around 425hp. the 50 trim will probably be a little more responsive and give a better torque curve
