DO IT ON ALL FOURS
Re: Anyone use these d16 rods?
Do not get the the Eagle rods then unless you REALLY want 7.5:1 compression. This is EXTREMELY low and the engine WILL be a turd out of boost. Your best bet is to purchase "custom" length rods that will bump the compression to a miserable, but more usable 8.5:1 ratio. Make sure you run the Y8 head gasket, the 2 layer one preferably. I know on eBay the rods and pistons were going for less than $500 as a combo. You really should have researched more before you dove in head first to get your feet wet.

Re: Anyone use these d16 rods?
Well I did research A LOT. D-series.org, Google. All of it. I want custom length rods but could not find any brand new... Last ones i seen were on P2P0.com or something like that and they are not in stock anymore. I know of FJ's too but dont know any vendors or websites that sell them. Only thing i can find is used. Care to point me in the right direction?
