Default 300whp possible??

I've been looking around and checking prices on a turbo set up for my 99 GSR and i was wondering what you guys think of this....

Besides everything else, i am getting an equal length mani, tuning on Chrome or Hondata (Uber, neptune...w/e), but what i'm really wondering is, is a GT35/40r turbo going to make me ~300whp on a stock motor??

Specs

.82 A/R EXHAUST

.70 COMPRESSOR

DUAL BALL BEARING -

.82MM COMPRESSOR WHEEL CAPABLE OF .64 Lb/MIN AIRFLOW

BOOST AT 2700 - 3500

OIL AND WATER COOLED

INTERNAL WASTEGATE @ 12 - 16 Psi

Thanks guys....

damn buddy you need to search.

That turbo will make tons of horsepower. Way overkill for your goal.

300 on a gsr is nothing these days. DRag/Greddy kits will even get you there.

I know it'll make 300, but will it do it under 10psi so that i don't have to worry about the bottom end??

Thats more what i was wondering......

It's not the boost level(psi) that breaks things,it's the whp your going to be making that will determine what your block can handle. It doesn't matter if you make 300whp at under 10psi or at 15psi still the same thing.

so then i guess the question is.....would a GT35/40R be too much for my car. I want it to be streetable, and not blow up.

Is 300whp safe on my GSR w/ that turbo?

I'd say the gt40 would be overkill for your goals but the gt35r would be fine if you are planning on running it on your GSR.It all depends on a lot of things, what kind of managment your going to be using, will it be an experienced tuner who tunes your car, there is a lot to factor in.300whp is safe on stock internals with the right tune and setup.

I think you should make 300whp at a fairly low boost level with the gt35r, 10-14psi maybe less but thats just me guessing,I'm not a dyno .Running 300whp on stock internals is safe if you have confidence in the tuner, there are many different people on here with 300whp on stock internals.I've seen d,b,h-series make 300whp on stock internals and be reliable but thats only because the person had faith in the tuner's abilities.

i got a t3/t4 with a gsr jdm 96 stock internal... i did 234WhP at 6psi.....you could reach 300Whp but you motor would not like it!

you could reach 300WHp but how long?

gsr got a lot of compression for stock intern..but all is in tuning! good luck dude

Yeah i just set 300whp as a "goal". I would be happy w/ anything really. It would be an improvement over what i currently have. So IF i used that GT35, when do you think i'd hit boost??? Would it hit boost fairly soon (3000) or would i have to wait until after VTEC is engaged (4500-5000)??

With the gt35r you wouldn't be hitting full boost anywhere near 3000rpm,more likely around Vtec like you said.

.63AR T3/T4 with a 60 trim compressor. Its like a 550 dollar turbo.

I have a t3/60-1 variant and I made 400whp.

you don't know what your talking about

For the original poster the GT35r is more than enough to reach your goal of 300whp. You could go with a smaller turbo.

you can make that much hp on a t3/to4e... the gt35r ... is more for drag only but you could still run it on the street no doubt... but im just saying, t3/to4e is way cheaper and fits your hp goals.

i'll just look for something a little smaller, i thought that turbo would be a little big, but i wasn't sure how much.....The only 2 considerations i have are: 1. I want approx 300whp and 2. I want it to be streetable (boost at lower rpms if possible)

Thanks

streetable and definitly meet your 300whp goal... t3/t04e will be just fine for that setup.. however if u want to go with a bigger and badder build later down the line.. then maybe u should think about getting something bigger. the t3/t04e is great for its price... about 400-600
