the 2860RS is rated at 37lb/min not 59
it's a 60mm exducer & 47.2mm inducer, not '.63 compressor' or a .'67T compressor wheel'

unless this is a different version made by someone else, that guy has no idea what hes talking about

it is a sweet turbo though

A GT28RS doesn't have ceramic bearings. They are definitely metal, at least the ones that I retrieved from my oil pan were after I blew them out of my GT28RS were metal.

I'd also avoid any turbo with a .59 lb/min Airflow, unless you are boosting a small lawn mower.

It sounds like the person who placed the ad doesn't know WTF they are talking about, and the "dual ceramic ball bearings" language sounds like the SSAC marketing gibberish for their cheap Chinese knockoff turbos. $750 would be a good price for a real GT28RS, and it is my personal favorite turbo, but who knows what you'd get if you bought the one that's advertised. Can the person take some pictures and post them.

Took a bit to find it, but it's probably one of these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...64618

Notice that they don't show the turbine blades, because there are probably 11 of them, unlike the 9 that an actual GT28RS has.

If you get a picture of the turbine blades, then that should show you what it is. It's just too much of a coincidence that his description in the listing is exactly the same as the description of the fake ones sold on ebay.

P.S. - He probably won't know if it's really a Garrett or not, not if he posted the description that he did, so I wouldn't even bother asking.

Sounds like the proceeds from theft to me. It's always been a red flag when I hear about some "local guy". More like a "local" deprived owner.
