Default 3000gt vr4 turbo

so i was looking at the turbo on this car today 3000gt vr4. they seem to be a lot smaller than your average t3/t4, probably because their twin turbo. so what i was thinking is im going to make my own header for it. now my big thing is how much psi is possible to run with this turbo, anyone have history with them? plus...negative?

Let's say this. The VR4 3000GTs use 13g twin turbochargers, and those owners even get rid of them to upgrade to 15Gs and are willing to spend a couple grand to do it. together those 13Gs barely made 350whp. That's not a lot, and is a PITA to integrate.

Here's a 13G

Those are 25lbs/min for each turbo, and that's at over 14psi of boost. your average 50 trim T3/T04E 75mm is 47-49lbs/min at 14psi of boost. that's over DOUBLE what the 13G is working with.

If you got it for free, sell them to a needy VR4 owner looking to take the car back to stock

Either that or use them as a paperweight...they're small enough

On the 3000GT, the safe limit is approx 20-21psi, thats with two of them.

The 9B is stock for the US market, the 13G is stock for Japan/Europe. I made damn near 400whp with a pair of those, but theyre still pretty sad.

On any other application, I wouldnt touch those turbos. Like Shodan is getting at, use something else that will work better.

Yeah, those 9B's are pretty sad. The car drives nice stock and its decent off the line.... but those little things fall over quickly.
