You should be able to see if you are still using the stock MAP sensor. Look and see if it's plugged in. It sits on top of the throttle body, here's a pic of mine:

Yea i checked and mine is plugged in. It reads: Sensor Assy. Map / Denso / 079800-3000 / 5v PS-30. Does that mean anything to you? stock?

Also about what 'HiProfile' wrote, would it be wiser to get a GM 2bar if i only plan to run a max of 15pounds? My motor is built though but i wouldnt imagine i would boost more than that, but ya never know i guess ...thoughts?

thanks for all the info guys

yes i beleive they read up to 11psi

So can I just go to any auto store to get the GM3bar? anything more specific to ask for? And regarding the original question of this thread, is it possible disconnect the stock Mapsensor and use the same plug?

You will need a connector for it, the Honda connector won't fit. Here's the part numbers:

GM 3 BAR MAP sensor - 12223861

Connector - 15305891

Pin A -- Ground
Pin B -- Sensor output
Pin C -- +5 volts

My thought is that a 3bar map on anything but a fully built motor handling 15+ psi is sorta useless (compaired to a 2bar), since you have much less resolution for the 0-15psi range (half the columns in your ems). From what I've seen over at the uberdata forums, a 3bar map also has a shitty non-linear curve in vacuum, and needs a complete retune for vacuum since nobody has the curve for it.

My guess is that above 20psi on a GM you'll have to do what you do for vacuum - retune every column. If it reads 22psi when it's really 27psi (and say 20psi when it's really 22psi), if you tune it starting w/lower boost, and tune it after every 1-3 psi increase in the wastegate, you'll be good. Based on the fact most people pusing 20psi+ are dyno ******, it'd be cheaper to go AEM 3bar than multiple dyno runs, I'd assume.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Yes, I have a 2-Bar GM (MSD) MAP for this same reason -- more resolution, and no intention of going over 15psi. I'm not sure, but I think the 2 bar has the same non-linear vaccuum issue as the 3 bar, so yes, complete retune needed -- but I'm waiting for Uberdata to get the Cut & Paste Lambda working to use my EzFuel (autotuning) script.

Don't know about your second paragraph tho.
