Default MAP? stock map over 10psi.

i belive the stock map sensor sends 0-5 volts back to the ecu. 5 volts being 10 psi. correct me if i am wrong. instead of missing link, check valves, or 3 bar map, why cant a 5 volt resistor be used on the wire going back to the ecu? and while were on the subject, which wires on the map go where? obd0 for my application, but i belive there all the same.

think about it this way: if you constantly subtracted 5v from the map sensor, then whenever the mapsensor outputted any voltage between 0v and 5v, then the ECU would see 0v until the map sensor outputted more than 5v.

What would that solve? A 3bar is pretty inexpensive compared to most other turbo accessories and neccessities.

i thought a 5 volt resistor limited the voltage to a maximum of 5 volts and wouldnt allow it to go over 5 volts. is there anything i could use to limit a circuit to no more than 5 volts?

it would solve the problem of throwing a code when your too broke to go buy a 3 bar.

Thats kinda like how the afc hack works. Although if you do somthing like that your stock injectors will not work right.

my fmu will handle that. i just want it to stop throwing codes.

It can't be used... however, what you're thinking about is FCD.
Besides, you need to cut off at 3V for ECU not to freak out.
I made my own.. for under 5US$... here's link for schematics:
http://www.teamfc3s.org/info/a...d.htm

On the other hand to use stock MAP for over 10psi... why not? you can use it - but at anything over 10psi it'll read same as at 10psi - 5V .... so no real point of ising it over 10 psi...

thanks. i think i might build an fcd. im not running over 10psi. im running at 10 psi but sometimes itll spike a little over 10, so thats what i need it for. most of the time it wont throw a code but on real hard runs it will. does anyone have the wiring diagram for a map? its obd0 if it matters, but i dont think it does.
