1g dsm td05h 14b turbo...7-8 psi or 10-12 psi??? Getting mixed signals here....
I've tried reading up to find this information...but no one seems to really know. Some people say the 14b's are 7-8 psi stock and some say it's between 10-12 psi. Does anyone know from experience, and not just what they've heard?
I've got a stock '99 LS and a 14b, so I'd like to know if there will be too much boost (>8 psi) for my stock engine.

There will not be too much boost at all. That turbo will prob match your motor just about right. I'm running it on my sohc vtec and am pushing 7psi with it. I have a manual boost controller and have full boost around 4500rpm.
If I'm not mistaken the TD05-14b maxes out around 13-15 psi.
Go for it man. I got all my DSM gear for $300.00 Canadian, and don't regret it one bit.

Hey Hybrid,
When you say you got all your dsm parts, what parts are you talking about? Because I just bought all dsm parts for $200US. And all the parts included the 14b, sidemount ic, and ic piping. I'm just wondering where you put your ic and were you able to use the piping?

No, I don't think it will be only 7 PSI from the factory. You'll need to do some adjusting via the wastegate actuator arm.

it's 6 psi, maybe 7 but we got 6 by without using a boost controller.

Mine put out 6.5-7psi. I tweaked it down to 5psi. Also it put out 10psi in second and 15psi in third when my wastegate hose blew off.

Here's a thought: you will be fine. Go, get it tuned, and see where the turbo will take you.
