I was wondering about the 18g turbo. whats the max psi you can run on it before it desent make anymore power and falls on its face. Also if i bought a greddy kit could i swap out the greddy turbocharger for a garret one say t3/t4

Re: 18g (B18C-RnVA)
i think i posted a similar question long time ago.. but didnt get many replies.. but from my understanding you will need to get a t3/t4 turbo, new manifold, and downpipe then the only thing really left from that greddy kit would be the piping, and that black box right? plus you will most likely have to modify the piping in some way to make it fit.

I am thinking of doint the same kit with the hondata. From all the research i have done it seems as though 300-350 WHP is attainable with no problems. I am still checking into the wastegate issue to see if it will give me any problems at higher boost levels. I think i should be okay considering the DSM guys get away with it quite easily. I would also appreciate some more input though.

Re: 18g (lsinteg)
From what I was told the max psi reccomended for the 18g is about 16 psi which is easily good for about 320-330 hp. After 16 its just stressing the turbo and eventually blow the seals.

Re: 18g (ek9t)
i wish i could find some definite answers about boost levels and the internal wastegate. anyone have any DSM buddies with the greddy upgrade. it uses the same turbo. i can not seem to find anyone with it on the boards though....anyone else?

Re: 18g (hybrid_eg)
btw, from my understanding the wastgate that comes to this kit.. max is set at .5bar.. which is little over 7lbs.. someone please correct me if i'm wrong.
My friend had this kit on his bone stock 96 gsr 4dr.. and the car ran 14.5 with a slipping clutch.. barely limped home after the 1st run.. that was done on 17's, full interior.. etc.. plus he couldnt drive for ****.. so i assume it could have been a high 13's easily with a race clutch and good driver. Honestly i'm not looking for major power in my case at least not anytime soon.. as long as i pull 220+whp i'll be happy.. cause with 5k it will be a bitch to make that power N/A.
