Default 1600cc injectors = bitch

1680 actually! bought thees bad boys and planned to run e85 but plans have changed for now. and decided to try them with GAS. needles to say this was a real pain in the ***. and took ALL DAY street tuning and burning chips. [im not sweet no emulator here/crome.14 non pro]

After trying numerous base maps i made from scratch some were decent some were really bad. I ended up using one of J Davis's tunes from the bin directory. [wierd half 110 final 17 psi.bi] base timing was at 20* why is that? i messed with alot of other things, added 3bar and overall turned out pretty good. idles in the 14's even sometimes 14.7!! mid/high trot is in the 13s. tomorrow I will be doing some WOT pulls under some boost.

heres my BIN for anyone thats debating using 1600s could save you a days worth of work. [most likely took so long because im still learning, not a self proclaimed PRO tuner here] http://forum.pgmfi.org/viewtopic.php?t=14071

I will post up my results in boost and my turbo setup with some pix after the kit is finished being installed. i will be street tuning all week and hitting the dyno next saturday.

Im open for any advice from anyone thats tuned a setup with such big injectors.

idles at around 1k with a DSM resistor box 8.2 compression all motor ctr+cams

posted this on pgmfi too more traffic here

The car idle better with more advance, why do you think?

Big injectors are easy - they just need a lot more pulsewidth as they take longer to open.

Do a normal injector recurve on stock mappings for your desired engine, add fuel tools 2.0, then start adding offset under the advanced tab of the fuel multipliers. When she idles stoich at operating temp, bingo, your NA mappings are normally within a half point of target AFR.

Whatever number you add for offset, it adds that number to every fuel value on the map. It's a really simple way of getting recurves to work right.
