Default 880cc to much for GSR?

I found some Precision 880cc's...my goal is at least 300 HP. Will these dump too much fuel? Oh, tuning via turboedit....thanks.

As long as you're gonna tune it you'll be fine. People say that big injectors have a hard time idling sometimes...but I think Jeff Evans said it's only a problem when you go to 1000cc's.

way overkill for 300hp, but gives you plenty of room to grow

I'm runniong them now and the idle is a little rough but nothing to bad, guzzles gas a little bit more though. I have a spare set of 470cc injectors that I'll be using until I get internals and up the boost.

I ordered 550cc injectors when i was building up my car. Somehow I received like some 720cc's or bigger and didnt find out until I put them in on the dyno to get my car tuned. Anyways Im making a little more than 300whp and my injectors are pretty big. Has a little rough idle but nothing to bad. Tuned on Crome.

It sounds like you're getting a good deal on them, is that right? If you are then get them because they will give you room to upgrade. They don't need to be that big for 300hp but they will work fine. You have to get it tuned either way so if you're getting them cheap it's worth it.

I will say that you might see some annoyances when trying to use injectors that large in a TurboEdit setup, here's why:

TurboEdit backend code is still far from being fully developed...sure you can scale the stock fuel maps and tune them for 880cc injectors and the car will run, but ALL of the other maps in that code that are untouchable as of yet (delta TPS, decel, warmup enrichment, IAT/ECT correction tables, etc) will still be for 240cc injectors.

So things like throttle tip-in can go VERY rich briefly when you get on the gas causing brief bogging, when it gets VERY cold or VERY warm and you tuned the car on an average day...you can see rather large fluctuations in the AFRs because the air temp maps are assuming 240cc injectors...the list goes on.

550cc is the largest I would comfortably stick in a car with TurboEdit, but stick to 450s or less if you can, they are good to 300 whp anyways.

Sell the 880s for some coin, pick up some used DSM 450s, get them cleaned and balanced and be good.

I guess I should listen to what you say because you are the guy who will be chipping my ECU soon! Since you will be doing my basemap Chris, 550's or 450'? I'll buy what you say to buy, Sean J.

For anyone who has a resistor box installed from the factory, I say find a set of DSM 450s, send them out for cleaning and install them with new seals.

For anyone that doesnt have a resistor box from the factory, it is very easy to pick up a nice set of new Precision High Impedence 440cc injectors, some RCs or do the resistor box install and find a set of clean DSM 450s

Either save those 880cc for when you go bigger and better, and convert to OBD1...or sell them off in the meantime.
