I wonder if it is alright to run with higher boost settings on a stock motor with this stuff? From what I have read it does cool temps and I know temps are the main reason for detonation. So with that logic it would it be alright to run 350whp on a b18c1 engine safely without issues? From what I have seen 300 whp is pretty much the cut off without taking a major gamble but if anyone has any input I would apperciate it.

300whp can be easily done and with a really conservative tune. even 400whp daily drivers are safe on the stock motor gsr/itr.

my tuners stock gsr teg put down 460 on e85.

Now is the time for those in northern states to be CAREFUL about what you put in your car. Around me they should have already switched to E70 to maintain cold-weather startability. FYI E100 has issues at temps below 55F; E85 does to some extent, so they change to E70 so that cars still start in snowy weather.

I have a $100 gas card for a local E85 place, but I'll probably wait till spring...even though its under $2/gal.

I have been messing around with it. this past weekend I tuned my 84mm GSR motor.
-10 line
a1000 pump
RC1200's no driver
Hondata s300
Borg warner 366XL

The car made 606whp and 450TQ @ 25psi. Maxing out the injetors.
The car went 10.34@137 also this weekend AT MIR. there is alot more left in it, with some more tuning.

I am debating going to e85 instead of running on 110 all the time (I dont daily drive my car). Currently though I only have a single 255 walbro and 1000's... so I will need a better fuel setup to make what I want or even equal to what I can make on the 110. Decisions, decisions.

On the plus side, e85 is under a 1.50 a gallon here right now... and within minutes of my house in multiple directions.

twkd you could try a 60/40 blend of Ethanol and 93 octane to get more out of your Injectors, I dont know what your power levels currently are, I made 585whp @ 23psi with E70 on 1000's and 2 255hp's on a dynapack but was completely maxed in duty on the dyno, with E85 I can barely run 21 psi down the track before I run out of duty cycle........

I thought about blending as well, but honestly I would probably end up just pumping in more 110... wait errr 112... not 110 sorry typo originally. By the time I blend and check it properly to make sure I am getting a consistant mix, I might as well think about adding a inline bosch and some more injector. Good thoughts though, something I considered.

e85 is so very tempting for sure... maybe have a base tune on e85 and a 2nd on 112 so I can switch back and forth.

what have you guys done to actually get pumps in your area. the closest one to me is 30 some miles away. id really like to make the switch...but its kinda pointless considering id have to drive 60 miles just go get the stuff. i was even thinking of getting 2 55 gallon drums and filling them up. but considering how fast it burns and i know how fast pump gas burns in my car ill be lucky to get 100 or so miles out of a tank of e85. i checked a year ago and we have the same pumps now as we did a year ago. should i write my congressman? lol

I filled out a few forms on gete85.com and about a year later I had a pump 1/4 mile from my front door

Just tested the E85 in central Illinois 2 nights ago.. 85% and 83% (two tests for confirmation)

That explains why the WRX hates starting (even with a block heater) and idles like ****.

-1*F right now, I bet a cold semi would sounds better starting Or a tractor.

Anyone think 300whp (250ish tq) is possible on a J-H22 with stock internals 255 - 850's on a TD05-18g 8cm2? Running E85?

Do you guys usually just run e85 all of the time or do you guys usually switch between 93 and e85 depending on where you are?

Because we dont have many e85 stations so I know I would have to have 93 in the tank sometimes because I am not near a station. So if I had like 2 gallons left or however much would still be in the car when the light comes on, how much would it throw off my tune by adding it at that point.

This is really appealing but I know I wont be able to run e85 all of the time so there will be times 93 will just have to be in the car, also I would tune for both fuels.

So..cliffs are If I put e85 into my car when I have a bit of 93 left over would that be okay? Or is it necessary that the 93 be drained and then the e85 put in before it can be used?

No you have to drain all the e85 out. It's really simple. Just let the car idle but take the fuel return off and send it in the bucket. when the car has drained it all out it will start to stutter and shut off.

I live in texas too but I live south. I run E85 all the time. I have a list of where the E85 stations are in Texas.

So if im driving my car up to dallas I change it to 93 but if im down south i keep it E85 because I'm only a few miles from the stations. I love the ability to switch whenever i choose to.

Tony1 will teach you how to drain it if he tunes your car.

I've been doing quite a bit of E85 tuning, not on Hondas, and a little E98 as of recently. I love the stuff ... Just HATE the smell of E98, lol

They should be ok. Seems that the real corrosion issues tend to be with methanol not
E70, E85, E98, E100 which are ethanol based.
