Default Solid CEL goes off when jumped

92 si, LSvtec, p28, s200, holset

I think it came on after a pull, turn on key, cel comes on for test, pump primes, cel goes off. turn to start position, car starts and CEL comes on.
I took the ground loose at tstat and cleaned and retightened, wasnt dirty,
took out ecu, removed Hondata module removed and reinstalled the eprom.
still there.
When I jump the test plug, the CEL goes off.I assume this is Code 0?
Car runs ok, but a little rough, I'm scared to boost under this condition..a drag.
I would appreciate any help. I have searched awhile today already, reading old threads.

A solid cel is code 0, try jumping the service connector while the car is running.

Sounds to me like a faulty ecu. I can bench test it for you if you'd like.

I will swap in my friend's and see what gives, thanks for taking the time to comment.
Is the test procedure in the Helms? I'll check it out later.

Swapped another p28 with s200 attached..cel came on...but his would indicate a code 9 instad of 0.
Maybe just cuz from different cars/tunes?
The stock p06 he had wouldn't idle my ID 725's , but cel lit.
Gonna follow the flowchart in Helms from here.

No, I ment I can put the ecu on my engine simulator, and test it for you.

Code 9 is for the CYP sensor. You may have a faulty dizzy if more then one ecu is giving a cel.

I've seen this happen quite a few times. Start by replacing the main relay, that's the most common issue. Otherwise wiring from the main relay to the dizzy may be compromised, the ecu isn't opening the main relay correctly, you have a short, or the dizzy is just plain bad. On occasion it's also been as simple as a loose dizzy connector or the S300 calibration is corrupt, which sadly I wouldn't doubt at all.

Thanks a lot, I have a spare main relay, and can steal my kids gsr dizzy if I have to.
I followed the flow chart for cel in the Helms for engine starts, light comes on, no code. Said to measure between the brown and green d4 and dwhatever..approx. 5 volts? Yes, well, 4.79, so jump harness..5 volts? No..so unplug A harness/ turn key on.. Cel lit? No ...it's only on when running. Flow chart says sub a known good ecu.. Which is kinda hard since almost all I have are chipped and using s200. Does that matter, btw? For testing?
I really appreciate you guys taking time to help, I want to learn more about engine management, but have to get the car back to good health first.
Oh..and it's only s200..I WISH 300...want to switch to Neptune maybe this summer if funds allow.
I'm afraid if I buy S300, I'll be left with another unsupported system soon. I keep arriving late to the party. I wonder if our B series are a dying breed.

I will post the final solution when it happens, I hate when people abandon there help threads with no outcome.
How did you guys learn so much about the intricacies of these systems?

Referring to code 9?
Not zero?

Got your PM, here's my public response. You have to isolate the issue to your car, your ECU or the S200.

Instead of swapping another ECU into your car, use your ECU in your sons car with his chip to see if the problem moves from your car to his car and post the results or continue with the next step which is to add the S200 with your chip into the mix. If you have a copy of the S200 calibration, adjust the injector size on your chip so that you can start your sons car.

Ok, will try to isolate further.
I have the serial to usb cable (not Hondata original..from comp. store) but never even plugged up to s200
What software will allow what changes?
I don't know enuff about Hondata, but don't you need a licensed copy of Rom editor to make changes?
Would I have to burn a new chip?
cuz no burner
Chip swapping...about now I'm wishing I would've installed one of those zero force sockets...prying it in and out

I'm over my head, I realize.. must really try you knowledgeable folks patience, I know.
Trying to wise up, lots of reading to do obviously.
So, thanks for tolerating.

S300 is a great buy and even if it's no longer supported u don't need that license crap like s200 so u can use it forever

Well, skipped one step, but I think I made progress...
I tried my ecu AND s200 in the Integra and ran it for about two or three minutes ( it's partially torn down on stands for core support repair, just slid hoses on radiator and set it in there for a test fire)
His car isn't boosted yet, so no known good chip to use in his socketed ecu, I have a socketed ecu in it with the jumper neutered to run stock for awhile.

No cel!

Weird that my tune idled his stock injectors beautifully tho.

My tune is almost just a basemap on ID 725's however, cuz failing parts on tune day...was only on spring at closing time,
(said 289 on 7.5 or 8lb..whatever the lightest spring was for the 38 Tial I had)
never made the return pilgrimage to finish.. now S200 obsolete at T1

So..now to find out why I'm getting solid cel when it's on on my car.
Can I assume my P28 is ok? That would make me happy.

If your ECU with S200 ran on his car for 3 minutes without a cell and you cannot do the same thing on your car then it's pretty well isolated to your car. However, either the basemap does not have 725s or your sons car does not have stock injectors because it doen't make sense that his car idled properly.

Since you have access to another dizzy, you should try that on your car first before trying to diagnose a wiring issue.

I think maybe I found it.
Opened up my dizzy tonite, (I know...3 months later, but I'm ******* busy, and car was slightly ok) and found this. Note rotor screw in wrong position.

The culprit

Trapped 109 Saturday on NeoGens (first time down a track) like this. Had to leave easy, stock mounts and it's spitting the axle out.

It was running ok...stumbled a little at stops sometimes, died.

Put it back together w/these parts after removing the screw...cuz it's my daily.
It idles better now with a screw in the rotor.

Damnit, this was a good dizzy...imported from Cali.
Gonna need some parts if anyone has 'em.

Need to repair this and hopefully it will fix the CEL.
