Default How do you get rid of the check engine?

Greetings ya,ll... I hope all is well.

I'm quiet new to the honda realm, and i've recently purchased a 1998 honda civic from some random off craigslist. It's an automatic with 165k so of course it has had some problems. Recently took it to get smogged and it FAILED! due to

P0325 Knock Sensor 1 CKT malfunction and

P0135 O2 Sensor hearter fault (Bank 1 sensor 1)

I asked around and they said the car wouldn't run if the knock sensor was not working (the car runs perfect)...

Also i recently replaced the o2 sensor myself.

I was wondering how I can clear the Code

My friend tried to use an OBD2 scanner but There was an error code which I can post if that would help...

Sorry this has became lengthy, i'm just trying to pass this smog!!!!..

194 views and nobody has an answer? INSANE!...

THE OBD2 Scanner had a communication error with my ECU.

I've tried leaving the negative unplugged for a length of time aswell.

I have a couple more days to get this smogged! Suggestions would be awesome!

I'd say check the basics: all fuses, wiring damage, and clean all the ground connections in the engine bay, as well as cleaning the battery terminals and making sure they're tight

seriously? are you that dumb that you would suggest that? the OP failed emissions, he needs to fix whatever the issue is so he can pass emissions. the cel is there for a reason, because there's a problem. how does removing the bulb solve anything.

Hah! I'm glad you appreciate my response... once the bulb is gone the problem goes away, DUH!
