engine tuning question
hi
When an engine is properly tuned at let's say 300 hp with stock sleeves on a honda b18a1 engine, is there a possibility for the sleeves to be cracked after some driving (e.g. after 5000 miles) even if there has been no changes made to the engine ?
regards

Re: engine tuning question
If u somehow have a fuel system failure for exampl rgulator or stuck injector, or even coolant failure causing heat, then yes. Harsh antilagging can hurt it too

to the OP 5000 miles of "driving" ore then likely it will be fine. 5000 miles of "driving the crap out of it" might lead you to some stress cracking. I beleive the sleeves are good for up to 400 max but thats pushing your luck and running on borrowed time. 300 to 325 is a good stopping point if you want to put some miles on it.

Not sure what you mean. I answered his questions in the morning before he posted here. He's just going to have to play with the 2-step settings and find what works best for his setup.

Re: engine tuning question
Good luck guy. I've owned a Prelude before and my initial tune was done on CROME. I have a nice shiny RTP sitting in it now but I really don't care what you think. You're the one that cannot get his car running straight even after the advice of the pros over at HRTuning.
Just admit you don't understand what you need to do and stop being so arrogant.
Again, good luck to you sir. (BTW. Why are you deleting all your posts?)

I don't understand that's why I'm here asking questions. Is this your first time? The reason people ask questions is because they don't know and would like to so they ask.. hence why I have been asking questions.... Once again you type a lot but say nothing.

Re: engine tuning question
We have been building Hondas for a long time now and most of them seem to have no problem on stock sleeves at that power level with a good tune. I will say that years ago at the 300 whp level we did have isssues with cracked ring lands and sleeves due to a bogus aftermarket distributor and the older AEM unit. I believe the signal was getting a little silly and adding a **** load of timing;. That has been the only issue ive seen at that power level. Last stock sleeve gsr we did made about 500 whp and was driven everyday for about a year and was fine.
