I don't think obd0 ecu's are chippable.

Yes OBD0 ECU's can be chipped. It's just that the software for tuning them has kind of been forgotten. In order to have a two step the software used to program the ROM Chip would have to have that option. For instance TuboEdit, an OBD0 ROM editor, has launch control as an available option. You would need something like this.

I have chipped and tuned a few OBD0 ECU vehicles with TurboEdit. It's not that difficult as long as you have the right OBD0 ECU. The 91 PM6 is actually one of the easy ones to chip With the OBD0 ECU's there aren't as many sensors or other BS inputs to deal with ether.

A cheap Ebay what, chipped ECU or just the chip/basemap? If you are going to pay for an EEPROM chip with a base map on it. I would suggest a reputable site such as www.xenocron.com or www.phearable.net for that.

As for chipping your ECU there are probably a few people in your local area that could do that for a reasonable price if you ask around.

I run a PM6 on turboedit right now with a 2 step on my d16a6.. GhostAccord is right though that turboedit has basically been forgotten. I would recommend going obd1 at this point if you want to DIY, as you will really be on your own if you run into problems.

Why would you jump from an OBD0 that is at least tunable to OBD2 that isn't?

IMO, the OBD1 Honda ECU is probably the most versatile ECU we have to work with. Unless you are considering a distributor less ignition system with a coil over plug setup. then the OBD2 K series would be your best bet. If you are just looking for something to run your engine and have the ability to tune your OBD0 will work. The OBD1 chipped ECU just has more support these days.

I still tune TurboEdit, it's not a bad program if you know how to use it. It's no Neptune, but it's still a billion times better than the mystery S200's people are still buying off Craigslist and bringing to me. Don't buy eBay crap, EVER. I'll vouch for Xenocron, he does good bases, but you NEED to get a proper tune... don't cut corners.

hey Ghost and Vegas, im in the same boat as this other guy. Just finishing up a mini-me swap, and hoping to just get a good tune on the thing. Nothing fancy, just possible, and hopefully OBO0 friendly. Not a huge fan of converting everything over to obd1... Anyway, question is: is it possible to run this ecu to run with a turbo kit if you tuned it right. Or is this completely out of the question?
