Chip question
not sure if this is the wrong section to post this but mods can move it to the right spot..i bought a moates burn2 chip burner and i tried putting a base map to a chip i had in my car that already had a stock map on it and i tried to put a tune on it after putting it into my car with DSM 450's the car started for about 15seconds then died and was idling rough so i shut it off and tried to burn another tune to it but wont start..on the flash and burn program i hit erase chip says erased but when i click on blank check it says its not blank so my question is..could my chip be bad or am i missing somthing when i burn the tune?

Basically you need to change the Chip Address -> Start Address to 0080000 and it should be good to go.
I am pretty sure the start address is user definable so a user can put 2 rom files on a 512 chip.
If it set the starting address automatically it would re-write the first bin file when you went to burn the second onto the chip.
Also as far as the blank check goes.. there have been times that the blank check has come up "not blank" after an erase. But if you burn the file onto the chip it takes it just fine.
I honestly never do a blank check anymore.

Just hit erase.. the program the chip with the new file using the offsets posted in the link above. Then give the chip a shot in the car.
well on that link u posted it says the 27sf512 have to be erased before u can put another tune on it..cant write over it..i tried a different chip and the car would run but ran REALLY rich..lots of smoke but was idling but idling very rough and wouldnt rev good..lots of popping and bubbling like its gettin flooded really bad..
