Default AEM tru boost question

Does anybody know if the AEM Tru Boost can lose its settings memory? Like if it was unplugged while on or something?

No it will not lose its settings. What is wrong? If you can only go higher in boost and not lower make sure the scramble boost wire is not grounded.

Well the reason I ask is because I've been chasing a boost spike problem. I've narrowed it down to either the tru boost solenoid or the gauge settings. My only problem is that when my car was tuned with the solenoid everything was fine, boosting right at 14-15psi (wastegate spring) then one day it started spiking. Idk how to change settings so I know I havent changed any settings. But the other day I took the solenoid out and ran a vacuum line from the compressor housing to the side port on the wastegate and it boosted right at 14.4psi (where it should be.)

So does that mean the solenoid is bad?
OR does that mean the settings on the gauge changed? Also I noticed when the gauge was in "off" mode it was still spiking instead of running straight wastegate pressure like its suppose too.

I tested the solenoid according to this...

My solenoid worked fine, blew air through each port how its suppose too when energized and de-energized

If the gauge is in OFF mode, your only going to boost your spring pressure. If there is spiking, it would not have anything to do with the boost controller but could be because the vacuum lines are too long.

It was spiking in "off" mode.. But it wasnt spiking when i had the car tuned, I didnt change anything.. Then one day its started spiking.. so it cant be the vacuum lines..

How many days was it from the tune to the day you started getting the spiking problem?

maybe check all your vacum lines for wear or pin hole leaks... i used to run an old turbonetics wastegate that after a few months would need to be cleaned of carbon build up around the stem cuasing it to not open all the way

I have checked all the lines, and i also checked the wastegate ports.. they were both free and clear

Okay so i got my car to stop spiking with my tru boost in the "off" setting. But when i go to settings A and B it reads er5. Does that mean the solenoid is bad? I havent programmed any settings in A or B yet. Could that be it?
