IF you revert back to all the replies i simple ask for points.. You have biases people coming in who obviously use/run these products and come off, as its the end all and be all..

I firmly believe its all on the users end.. I dont care what program people use.. its the fact people are ignorant that other programs out there do the same thing for cheaper.. because its cheaper makes it "wrong or not as good"
The RTP board aka the demon that i beta tested for the DIY tuners for months.. is now out and able to hold, get this, up to 15 different rom programs.. those guys who run All motor with the dope , with a flick of a button can have the different map, ready to go.. no changes needed, its already tuned and stored.. Can aEM do that? can you store different tuning sessions on there? dont think so..

Your going in the direction that stuff gets out dated..

Ectune / neptune are updated regularly..and stays up to date with new ideas and scripts and tunings.

This isn't a 66mhz IBM here I tune with a PII Labtop...and surf the internet on that as well, its pre 96.

 

I actually enjoy conversations like this, because its healthy.. hopefully it'll show others that there's more to tuning then spending 1200.00 dollars and think its the end all be all.

 

Your ECU is STILL from the late 80's early 90's no matter what software you tune it with.

don't remember the last time i was at the track and needed 15 maps, i have setup cars with secondary maps for nitrous and what not that run of a switch. maybe they should increase the resolution like davef said rather than add 15 maps..to 1 car???

when i spend 20k on my car i really don't want to top it off with some $300 box!! i want a dedicated stand alone system. i'll keep that for the low end budget cars(which btw there is nothing wrong with that)

I was saying if you need more columns you could increase the rev range and it'll add more columns / points to tune..

you can also ADD more boost rows if u need too as well i was just telling you missed the add-ins.

I've spent a decent amount on my all motor build.. but i dont think i could see myself spending anymore then maybe 10k on a car..to go fast.. that just doesn't seem.. justifiable.. I have a family of course.. and although i make good money in the academy its not flowing outta my ***.

 

i just bought a ppg dog box, and fully built top to bottom all motor k series motor with custom cams, i will hit 20k pretty quick...lol once again don't need to do it that way but if i wanna run with the big guys i have to give myself the best chance by going with quality parts

My last itr setup ran 104 traps in the 1/4...
Not to mention the setup now should be 12's ez and then on top of it, i have a shot of the dope..
Progressive nitrous controlled by neptune... should be 11's with the dope.. maybe 8 or 9k spent on a full interior integra..
I consider that pretty fast.. and ya, its all quality parts.. i'll repeat that.

What are you talking about?? Do you realize how ****en stupid you sound? How am i clueless bro?? Because the last time i checked,Business was doing pretty good for me tuning wise.

 

Well myself and like most of us here, this is why we wake up and breathe everyday. If i have to put another 20k in it oh well, we only live once, so im going to do what I love to do. And 30-50k to buy a house? Damn were the hell do you live, im not a baller but I paid 140k for my house and I drive a pretty nice 3 series for my daily. But my money goes into my drag car, my girl does not like that, lol but she has to deal with it or she can hit the road. ha ha

I own a house.. i paided 128k for mine, over 1300 sq ft. 3 bedroom 2 bath.. giant backyard for my danes.. and what have you. I live in louisiana.. housing market is good down here.

But we have town homes and condos that go for 47~60k to own and they are around 2 - 3 bedrooms.
My wife doesn't fair well with me doing that to my car neither.. but its a hobby.. better then what most people deal with daily.
