Radio doesnt work after I pulled it
So I pulled the cd deck to completely take the carpet out and clean it. I put the cd deck back in, and it doesnt work. I put in my cd deck from my integra, and it doesnt work either.
I checked the CD deck wiring, and it all looks good. I checked the fuse in the engine bay, it was blown but i swapped it, still doesnt work. the cd deck way poorly wired and when i took it out, the copper wires exposed touched metal and sparked. I do see a yellow wire and a red/black wire behind the deck. but they look cut and may have been for the sound system the previous owner had.
Im stumped. i need my tunes. help

your stereo requires two fused 12+ to operate properly. most of the time they are two independent circuits. confirm all your fuses are good - or look up what fuses supply the 12v constant and 12+ hot in ACC and or on position.
if all fuses check good - use a wiring diagram and a voltmeter to test for voltage coming in and out of the stock harness and in and out of the aftermarket harness/radio harness.
if proper voltage is not found - search for a break/short in the wire you suspect somewhere along it's path. a multimeter capable of testing for continuity could potentially make this easier.
also, in the process of removing your carpet, did you disconnect any grounds?
edit: are the yellow/red-black wires coming from the same harness as the wires connected to your stereo? was there copper exposed?

The acc fuse is for the radio? I didn't know that. I didn't check the acc fuse.
The yellow and red/black wire, I'd have to check to see where they are running to. I'll update tomorrow.
I did not remove any grounds. But where would the grounds be in a 92 prelude. I removed the carpet and I sprayed the whole floor with rocker guard.

it could potentially be, but most likely not your ACC fuse. your stereo should have constant 12v for memory and a 12v that supplies power only when the ignition is in the Acc or run/on position. there are many fuses that are only supplied power when ignition is turned - one of them will feed the wire in the stereo harness.
I'm not sure on the exact grounding points. but they could be under your carpet - attached to the dash sub-frame - behind kick panels - etc. If you disconnected no grounds, it would not be an issue, even if they were covered over.

I've tried multiple pig tails for my deck. I need to find out what these cut wires are. Also behind the cd deck, there are two plugs that are attached to the floor of the console area. One of them was unplugged, but that didn't fix it.
When it comes to wiring, i have no knowledge. I may just bring it to a audio place.

the blue wire is most likely for a power antenna. it shouldn't affect operation of the stereo being disconnected.
instead of the wires that aren't connected, I would focus on the wires that sparked and their fuses. if the fuse you replaced has not blown, that's a good sign. check fuse 18(10amp) under your dash. this is most likely your culprit.

I'll check the fuse under the dash tomorrow. I didn't know there was a fuse under the dash for the radio in my prelude. I only see
Clock radio fuse under the hood. Unless the fuse under the dash is called something else

You're the man. It was the acc fuse. I never knew the acc fuse was for the radio. What does acc stand for?
Now I can upgrade my deck and get a nice one with aux.
Thanks for you help boss. You saved me $50 of labour at the audio shop

Make sure to solder the connections and cover them with heatshrink tubing to prevent further issues. Any unused wires (at the wire harness) should be securely covered with electrical tape and ziptied out of the way.
Right now, the harness is completely covered in electrical tape now. I'm getting a new cd deck this weekend, so I'll wire it right. I don't think I'll solder though. I'll use butt plugs and heat shrink.
No one uses butt plugs and heatshrink. Just solder the connections. Trust me, I've been messing with car audio since the early '90s.
id need to buy a soldering gun and some solder i guess. Ill do it next time im off work.
but ill do it when I get a new deck. this one is a 2009 alpine. no aux or usb
