Default wiring harness problemo

hey everyone. today i tried to install the cd player that i had in my rodeo into my prelude, ran into some problems like the wiring harness. went to circuit city and picked up one for my honda, anyways, the first attempt i connected all the wires right and fired up the cd player. but dumb me forgot to use electrical tape on the wires. so after a couple of minutes i realized that i forgot to plug in the antenna for it, so i unhooked everything and when i tried to start it up again me and my bro saw a spark, after a long time of figuring our what burnt out, my parking lights and radio fuses burnt out. fixed those up, but now when i try to plug everything back up, the cd player doesn't work, it makes the sound where u can put a cd in, but no main power, same with the old radio. me and my dad ended up doing some tests on each wire fo the new and old hardness. found out the wire for the acc (main power) was getting a high reading. what kinds of steps can i do to fix this? would i have to swap out the whole radio harness? or would i be able to get that single wire fixed? any help is appreciated. thanks!

proper installation shouldn't require electical tape...

how exactly did you connect these wires?

And a high reading of what? What were you measureing?

holy smokes batman....that kid is in trouble.

didn't even bother w/electrical tape??? wow and i thought cyphear was retarded with electronics. However you prove me wrong But seriously, go buy crimp caps at the hardware store. That will probably save you a headache later.

Are you saying that you burnt up the wire in the harness, and high reading??? what did you mean by that.

yea crimp caps are defintely the way to go. And my gf's stupid sister did something like that and she said that she saw a spark when the power wire hit the HU itself ad she had to reroute a new power wire from the fuse box, sucked.

what readings are you talking about?
