Default audio peeps?

desided to take some switches out of the dash i had below the cd player, so i took out the cd player, un hooked the cables leading to the subs (taking out the subs too) and hooked the wiring harness and the antenna back into the cd player, turned on the car, and the cd player doesnt turn on ( i didnt hook the subs up ) so im thinking maybe the sub wiring is what gives it the juice? and the sub cables freakin fell under the dash, and i really dont feel like taking it apart and finding them, so i don't know, do you usually hook up the cables to the battery like that, or is something wrong?

i checked the fuse on the back of the cd player, and it was fine. and i checked the wiring harness and it was fine. so really, either the sub cable gave it the juice, or something is fuckered up ;P

Get yourself a dvm and make sure you have power at the radio harness. You would want to check the battery wire at the harness and you need to check the ignition wire. Also make sure the ground is good too. It sounds to me that you have a loose connection somewere in your radio harness, It it a cut and splice job or did you install it correctly and use a wire harness?
