I’m a do it myself kind of guy and I just got an amp and I’ve been looking around for some subs. I got a Phoenix Gold tantrum 250.2 and paid $120 Canadian for it. I hear that was a good price but I don’t really know. First my question should be is that a decent amp. I’m very new at this but the love for a nice audio system is there. I’m just a beginner so I don’t want something crazy just something to start and work from; also I’m still paying for school so I have a very limited budget. When I went to pick up some subs I was offered a deal for 2 10”clarion for $160 (reg. $130 each) he claims. So can anyone tell me what I’m getting into……I have lots more questions but if someone cold help me out with this first id be forever the their debt. Thanks

the tantrum is a good amp, but before you go out and buy a bunch of subs and just jump on what appears to be a "deal" you would be far better off to decide what you want out of your system, then shop to meet your goals and what fits in your budget.

you need to examine your amp, then make sure whatever sub you select will match the amplifier properly...

 

im looking for quality over loudness if that makes sence. I want a quick booms. somathing that really moves with the music.....the sub he offered me is the Clarion SRW1083 for $80 a pop... do you think there worth it?

 

also how do i know what matches my amp?
