Default question about alpine hu's...

im about to get a new headunit and im looking at the alpine cda-9827 that can play mp3's and wma's. my question is, my old xplod headunit could play burnt cd's but didnt say that it could play mp3's. could i get a cheaper alpine hu like the 9821 or the 9823 and still play burnt cd's even though they dont say they can play burnt music?

my two choices are the alpine cda-9827 and the pioneer deh-p4600..i can get both for $200..if i get the alpine i gotta install myself, if i get the pioneer i can pay 200 installed.

thanks

A head unit stating that it can play MP3's doesn't mean that it plays burnt CD's, It means that it will play a CD encoded with MP3 files, which is a more compressed form of putting music onto a CD. With MP3 format then you have the ability to put around 150 songs onto one CD.

Almost any CD player will play a burned CD. Just look on the box for the ability to play CD-R/CD-RW.
