Default head unit question

i hav jus recently got a swap in my car which is a 93 civic hatch dx... and my head unit is a jvc kd-lx030 i tink thats what it is its those chameleon headunits... but i jus recently broke my engine in... where when i chrip in my gears the whole car jolts... but jus today my headunit wont even turn on... i had a problem like that a while ago when i jus got my swap in but a few seconds later it turned on... i dont know if wiring in my car go messed up or what any info would be greatly appreciated...

Sounds like it could be a power problem.

Quick diagnosis:

When the head unit does not come on, if your pre-set stations are NOT erased, then it's a remote wire problem.

If they are erased, it's a power wire problem.

Look behind the deck, check to see if (in your case) the remote wire is touching, loose, exposed etc. Try also double checking the connection. The remote wire is a wire that carries 12v when your ignition is in the on position and signals your deck to allow it to turn on.
