Re: Panchoek's build thread
thank you, and I think that im taking the advice and staying on stock dx knuckles and just get better pads and rotors..
anyways, snow is around the corner in Iowa but that doesn't stop the racing.. I put on my stock suspension and winter tires on steelies and do some rallycross. Unfortunately when I was to my last coilover in the rear, I noticed that the bolt that goes through the shock and LCA is seized on the bushing sleeve, so I have to get ahold of Function 7 and deal with that. Then hopefully in a month or two I will get them sent out to get rebuilt and revalved. First event was yesterday at the venue where Rallycross Nationals was held.
Here's right after installing steel wheels and stock suspension
here's at the event
and heres some pictures someone took, weren't real action shots but it'll do

Morning and Afternoon runs, Afternoon course was the morning course backwards
Also, ARP extended wheel studs came in today!!

Re: Panchoek's build thread
another rallycross this weekend, finished 4th. Would have been closer to 1st but the course kept changing due to the course getting torn up and a 2 second penalty..
didn't get any pictures of my car but heres a ford raptor that ran
also later in the day this sexy silvia s15 showed up. bride seats, voltex wing, te37, etc.
I also got the front coilovers disassembled. waiting to do the same on the rears and then they will get shipped out to get revalved to match the spring rates that I got
heres a couple videos from today

Re: Panchoek's build thread
Here's a small update.. first off some pictures of the previous event and a video of the most recent
next up, one of my lca bolts seized onto the bushing sleeve and just spins when I turn the bolt, called up Function 7 and they sent me a kit to replace all the bushings!! It took a while to get ahold of them but I'm really satisfied with their warranty!
finally, I ordered my wheels for the front for auto-x.. 15x9 949 racing 6ul. the plan is to wrap them in 245/40 Hoosier a7's!! I haven't mocked them up but I have a feeling that Im going to need spacers. Next up is going to be new wheel bearings with the ARP studs installed and new bushings for the rear lca's and send of the shocks to get rebuilt!!

Re: Panchoek's build thread
So its about 2 months until the first events start to roll up. I sent my koni shocks to get rebuilt and revalved and they had told me a 2-3 week turn around time but I guess a lot of people also sent in their shocks and since its first come first serve now its turning to 6-7 weeks which sucks since that the only thing I have left. So meanwhile the front end is getting finished up. New front brake setup is Brembo Slotted Rotors, Carbotech AX6 pads, ARP extended studs, and H&R 10mm wheel spacers along with fresh wheel bearings. All I have left is change fluid out for some Motul Dot4.

Re: Panchoek's build thread
now for some pics
new slotted rotors VS old blanks
New carbotech pads (left) vs old POS Hawk hps
installed w/ arp studs
wheels mocked up, that's when I realized I need some spacers since they rubbed on the knuckles
can't wait to get some tires on them and on the ground!!
somewhat final checklist before first event
Install coilovers and swaybar
Flush transmission fluid
Flush brake fluid
Buy and install r-comp tires
Alignment

Re: Panchoek's build thread
Rally cross looks really fun. Your civic is too clean to rally cross, i would have bought some cheap beat up civic for under 1k to do that with, this way you can have fun and have no worries.

Yea pretty small city, and this winter has been pretty mild although we're suppose to be getting about 6" of snow next week.

Re: Panchoek's build thread
so finally the shocks have arrived after getting spss3 revalving. wasn't too happy about the turnaround time and the I thought cost was going to be significantly less but all I care about is getting them on the hatch ready for 2016.
all parts sorted out and ready for assembly
assembled and ready to go on the car once it warms up outside
I also retired my old craftsman impact after 3 or 4 years. picked this brand new Dewalt 18v for $100 from a coworker

great job bringing this car back. looked rough in the beginning but then again, they usually all do. Glad to see this being used instead of the route you started with. Keep up the great work.

Re: Panchoek's build thread
thanks!!
got the tires mounted, they looks awesome and don't poke out too much on the car. I am probably going to have to beat the inside a bit since it will probably run on the inside at full lock.
and finally took it out for a drive after almost 3 months on jackstands. it felt good and new suspension feels a lot different.
I also decided to make a different splitter and air dam for this year. splitter blade is made out of 1/4 plastic that I found at Menards after months of searching and looking around in stores. The air dam is made the plastic edge used for gardening. I think it looks decent and a lot more pliable than the galvanized steel I used last year.
Mocked up on the bumper, just need to install the splitter blade and trim to fit.
now on the car
next up is an alignment and small odds and ends

Re: Panchoek's build thread
Auto-x schedules are out.. about 30 events for this year and first one is march 20(unless its snowing or really cold).. this past week got the transmission fluid changed and alignment done. also installed the ctr wing and seibon carbon fiber hood.. also decided to buy a dslr camera, still messing around with settings and don't have any good editing software besides whats on the computer so the pictures could be a lot better
since now im running the 949's, I had to retire the old 15x8 rpf1. so I go the matching pair and now they are my new daily wheels, I think they look awesome on the car and bring it all together.

Re: Panchoek's build thread
How does it hold up, do you feel you need a better set up or its sufficient? Do you also have the stock brake master cylinder? Does it seem to have a long pedal travel or does it feel good for your setup?
