Panchoek's build thread
I just got done reading through your whole build and I love the progress you've made! Man that b20 was ripping before the rings went out on you! I'm sure the b20V will be killer when it's done
vtec valve cover came, first up is stripping it and primer!
yea, that will look great in the bay

first time using paint stripper

almost there

all stripped

taped up and primered at work

after I get some -10 AN bungs welded in for the catch can I will be using VHT wrinkle red to finish it off!!
go-kart track day again!! was able to accomplish my personal goal for this year, after being in the 1:18's for about a year and half, yesterday I was 1:17's all day. I was able to put down a 1:17.09 twice!! unfortunately the track will be getting demolished next year so the new goal for the next 2 events there is to get in the 1:16's.

Update: i was debating for a while whether to sell my subie or keep it for another 2 years to pay it off. went to Carmax to see what they offered and left with 19k, after 14.5 payoff, came out with 4.5K. ive been trying to find another cheap daily but i think I'm just going to finish my b20v this year. so heres a big parts update.. after debating and some persuasion from a couple guys I've decided to run the b20v on E85!! so I ended ordering bigger injectors, fuel pump, and extra jug for when I go out of town racing! For ecu ill be going with obd1 Hondata S300 which is the only thing I have left to order. the last thing I'm looking for now is an EM1 wiring harness so I don't have to cut or splice any wires.
one last pic of the subie

and parts pic

oem parts:
oil pump, tensioner, PS bracket, VC gaskets, misc.
NGK wires
NGK spark plugs
Walbro 255 fuel pump
ID 1000's
ACL Thrust, rod, and main bearings
Password JDM oil baffle, magnetic drain bolts
VP racing 5gl jug
Skunk 2 VC grommet kit
found some downtime in a couple weeks, hopefully the new build will begin then

Finally after 2 1/2 weeks got my RS machine pistons.. ECU is ordered and waiting on arrival. only thing left is the wiring harness!
Got the valve cover sprayed also, wrinkle is really inconsistent even when I went through all the directions correctly. also got a spark plug wire cover

Motor is coming out next week for rebuild, really excited. if all goes well, I will still be able to get 8 or 9 events on the new setup

If you were setting records with the stock b20 in curious to see what your do with the new setup. It should be a lot of fun and I'm sure you'll give your friend in the evo a run for his money
thanks, looks great on the valve cover
already do on a cone course, can't wait to see what it does now!
thanks, and holes are AN male bungs for oil catch can
cars was acting up lately, took the distributor cap off and I think I found the problem

was going to take out the motor this weekend anyways but since I couldn't get a distributor just pulled it out Friday/Saturday, relatively easy except I ran into a bit of trouble with the bitch pin, so I looks like it will be permanently stuck on the linkage.. not worried right now until I have to actually need to take it out.. also ordered a few more parts and Hondata ecu came in also

getting ready start the tear down!!

Friday evening, all I had left were the motor mounts

Saturday morning

next up is drop it off for disassembly and machine shop! about 3 weeks hoping to have it back in and tuned!

time for update!! didn't take many inbetween pictures since I get into the zone once i start putting the motor back in! the casting was so shitty from the intake manifold, i had them port match and it looks great!

fluid stock up

after getting the motor back and dropping it in, still had the suspension, axles, and header to install

finally on the ground and out of the garage!!

hood back/bumper back on, catch can and lines ran!!

first fuel up, dyno tune is coming up next, we'll see how much she makes!!

finally got the car dyno tuned and it made 195hp/150tq. kinda disappointed but I think its in the cams.. probably going to switch to pro2's in winter

first event today on new setup, car felt great and definitely felt the power difference. it was a pretty tight course so can't wait to open it up on a different course

with the off season starting, time for an update and future goals
starting off with some unfortunate happening, after coming off my second run I come to my grid spot and hit the brakes and they go all the way to the floor. I was pumping it hoping it would come back but it wasn't and it looked like a puddle of fluid. I jack up the car and find this!

500 mile oil change on rebuilt motor before brake lines busted

waiting for my ride, good time for pics

with my luck, it happened to be an event that was 3 hours away with no one familiar so had to call some back up for a ride back home

lines were a bitch to get on, ended up doing both lines to the rear, and fuel return and fuel feed lines. had to drop the tank and front subframe a bit.
the modding didn't stop there though, got it buttoned up and also had a bucket seat installed. PCI rails and momo evo Daytona seat!

sigh of relieve pic after getting the lines put it and finally on the ground again

video of the 2nd run before lines busted, ended up finishing 11th raw with only 2 runs
I was still able to get a few events after the fixing it.

Iowa Speedway event, with buddy that finished with FTD

second to last event car was understeering like crazy, tires were shot!
