Re: Panchoek's build thread
Thanks
StI'll on stock master cyclinder. As far as how it feels, not sure yet because I haven't pushed them to the limit yet. I'll know for sure in about 2-3 months when I have some autox events done.

Re: Panchoek's build thread
Found an event about 4 hours from home and decided since it was on a Saturday I would make the trip to shake the rust off. didn't realize how bad the wind was going to be but it was fun and learned more about the car.
now today there was a rallycross and thought I would give it a try on the subie. probably not doing that again since it tore my car up pretty good
a couple pieced fell off the bumper and tore up my bumper and fender liner

Man that B20 rips!
I remember back in the day when Gabe was running that set up in his red coupe and running better times than 90% of the cars out there. Great stuff man

Re: Panchoek's build thread
Gabe was my inspiration for doing auto-x and having the setup I have now. Never got a chance to see him drive though, he had stop going to events just as I was starting

Re: Panchoek's build thread
so finally got some parts for the b20 until I can do a vtec head. decided on crower 403 cams and dual valvesprings. next up is some cam gears and fpr for tuning. hopefully I can net more power and torque however small!

Re: Panchoek's build thread
after a mother's day weekend break were back to regular scheduled programming.. first some pics from previous event
after that event I got some quotes on getting the cams installed, first was about 1300 with dyno tune and about 2 week wait time. for that price I might as well go with a vtec head. found another shop that did it $550 and gave me the option of a phearable chip for my ecu to use for a while until I get it dyno tuned. went that route and even with a tune, I should save about $300.
now the car is running great and also feels save to rev up to 7800 with the valvesprings, I was also able to gain 5mph in 2nd gear with the extra rpm's which I definitely felt this weekend and should help in other events where I would run out of gear quick,
this past weekend's course was a power course and basically 2 long straights and once again my time's were affected by a cone penalty, would have finished 8th instead of 13th

back at the old go-kart track for some fun, I wasn't able improve my time from last year of 1:18.46 but I was pretty close with a 1:18.52 w/ a mis shift, there will be more this year to try and get that 1:17.xx

Re: Panchoek's build thread
big update.. I had a few people tell me that they would see a cloud of smoke behind my during and I would also see it my rearview mirror when doing a pull.. took it to do a leakdown test and turns out my piston rings are fried.. lol
I would've never spent the money on cams for the b20 had I known the rings were going out, and in hindsight I should have probably done a leakdown and compression test before doing the cams just to make sure that they were good. oh well, you live and you learn. so I'm longer able to go to 2-3 hour far events, so I'm staying the local 1 hour distance events. parts for rebuild are coming and I can't wait for the next year!!
first off some local event pictures and videos
last pic you can kind of see the smoke..

Re: Panchoek's build thread
so I was going to get an HMO itr head but I found pretty good deal from HT marketplace and it happened to only be about 3 hours away. quick specs, skunk 2 pro valve springs, itr intake valves, b16 exhaust valves and RLZ ported intake, exhaust , and combustion chambers.
intake ports
exhaust ports
as soon as I got back I was offered a trade for my og set of buddy club p1's, I wish I could have kept them but didn't have any need for them since I've got 2 sets of rpf1 and they were white and my brake dust was pretty bad. I traded them for toda spec b cams. if anyone can confirm that they are indeed toda cams would be appreciated since the only thing on them were the letter be on the cams but I didn't see any pictures on the net of the 2 ridges on the end of the cam, please if anyone can confirm the authenticity of them
